Dissociation occurs as a result of an emotional trauma. Dissociation means that a person has the ability to lock up a memory of the traumatic incident in a corner of the brain and the person loses the ability to ever remember the past incident. It happens almost instantaneously following a traumatic event. It is an inherent ability God has given to mankind to cope up with traumas and continue to live a normal life.
An 'alter' personality is formed immediately after a traumatic incident. The identity of the alter trapped within is that of the child that went through the trauma. For example, if a traumatic incident happened to a girl child at the age of four, the identity of the four year old girl child gets trapped inside of her, for the rest of her life. Unless she deals with that traumatized child trapped within her, she will never be set free from the negative influence the incident has on her life. She will continue to carry negative emotions such as fear, anger, bitterness, hatred, injustice done, feeling of being victimized as a child, for the rest of her life. For example, she may feel scared or afraid to go close to an elderly man and may find it hard to trust older men. She may feel extremely threatened or vulnerable if she ever comes across a similar experience in someone’s life too, but will not know why, since she does not remember her own traumatic incident.
Lord Jesus can open up the incident locked up in a person's brain and bring it to his/her conscious memory. When this happens, the shock, horror, terror, threat, or fear caused by the incident along with other emotions like anger, hatred due to the injustice done can be re-experienced for the second time. This allows the person to give up the negative emotions to the Lord Jesus and receive healing.
When past emotions of a traumatic incident get opened up, a servant of Lord Jesus can interact with the alter personality and encourage the alter to handover all carnal emotions to the Lord Jesus and forgive the abuser. Then the alter personality can be merged together with the core identity of the person.
Healing from the trapped emotions opens door to deliverance from an army of demons entered through the traumatic incident.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all. Psalms 34:18,19
The Lord builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalms 147:2,3
You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise. Psalms 51:16,17
I have interacted with close to 100 alter personalities of others and have facilitated them to receive healing from Lord Jesus.
When past incidents get opened up, the alter personality can go through
extreme reactions and it can be difficult to contain the emotional outburst of a traumatised child. I needed to learn not to get too deeply disturbed or moved emotionally by the shocking incidents the alter narrates and stay calm while facilitating healing.
In the recent past, I began to see alter personalities and their locked up emotions in people. When this occurs, I can heal the alters, merge them and also pray for healing from damages without the alters narrating the traumatic incidents.
